6/19/05- hehehe.... i went to the 1st show of this year's warped tour yesterday in columbus! let me see
what happened... i spent $5 before i even got into the venue on a cd by a band who was hanging out in the parking lot asking
people to listen to their music...i thought they were good, so i bought it...then we listened to another one once we were
inside and they sounded pretty awesome too...so my friend bought that one. the plan is to share them. i saw tsunami bomb,
STUTTERFLY!(yay!), the matches, the explosion, from first to last, strung out, and a little bit of hawthorne heights, the
offspring, the transplants, sneses fail, and my chemical romance, where i almost died physically, and did die a little spiritually.
I was in a good spot, somewhat close to the stage, and as soon as mcr came out, everyone just started fuckin pushing, not
jumping around, or shoving-pushing, or moshing, just fuckin pushing and squeazing, i swear it was the most dumbass thing EVER
i have been to A LOT of concerts, and all the other bands i saw at warped between this year and last year, and i've never
experienced anything THAT stupid... i just kinda went with it for the 1st 2 songs they played, hoping maybe it would die down,
b/c that initial pushing happens a lot, then fades out...but noooo.... it only got worse, and i couldn't even fucking see
the band, or enjoy hearing them cuz i couldn't hardly breathe...it was fucking insane...and the little string of profanities
i just let off is only about half of what came outta my mouth when i finally got out of there, after 5 minutes of pushing
and stepping on people just to claw my way to a spot of open air.... it was even more intense than the time i forgot how to
sit down..(ha i saw that on family guy and always wanted to use it) and at one point while i was still there, gerard was like
"open up the mosh pit" and i was like puh...yeah that's not gonna happen cuz these people are too fuckin stupid. and
it didn't happen either, from what i could see. so yeah be sure to check out the lovely 2 pictures i got of that performance...all
blury...and the 1 would be a kickass picture if it wasn't so blury...anyway on to the highlight of my day... i was right in
front/center for stutterfly-the whole reason i drove the extra hour instead of going to the 1 in cleveland in july. AND
i got their new cd which doesn't officially come out until 6/21...AND talked to them (mostly jason) AND got a picture
w/ all of them.... **HAPPINESS**
oh and i took my video camera and shot some stuff on the way there to add to my documentary... good stuff
6/12/05- ok so in the book "the sisterhood of the traveling pants" (yes the book, i read it ages ago...haven't seen
the movie yet...*tear*...) tibby makes a suckumentary about her summer... i have decided to COMPLETELY copy that idea... i
have a few things cool planned for this summer, and those will just be the highlights, but i figure, i've got no plans, lotsa
time, and a video camera... to me, that equals a way for me to keep myself somewhat entertained this summer.
6/3/05- ok, so i was just on a message board and there was a discussion about homophobia and gay marriage and all that...and
there were about 5 bajillion posts which i don't have the attention span to read through, but i read enough to get me wanting
to write about it....so i'll just write it here. Shockingly, there were a lot of inteligent responses. Many people of our
generation are more open minded than the generations that have preceeded us, and have reached their own conclusions even if
they conflict with those of the people around them. This fills me with hope for the future, assuming we can make it through
the next 4 years with georgey jr. as our president. Half the arguments against gay marriage are based on religion and what
the bible says, and the other half don't seem to really have any reason whatsoever....they just simply don't like it...well
you have to learn to deal with living in an environment that contains things that you don't agree with. A man marrying another
man, or a woman being wed to another woman does not affect our society. No harm is done by this. However, banning gay marriage
knocks down all that we have worked for in order to achieve equality. Granted, it is basically guaranteed that we will never
reach full equality for all, but how can we make any progress at all when the government is supporting this biggotry? Now
on to this "the bible says so" shit....I'll start off by saying that i basically have no religion. I do believe that there
is a god, but that is the extent of it. I feel that living your life by something that you have simply been told is true is
restricting. I believe in questioning things, and not taking something for being the truth because someone else says it is.
Would things be different if the bible stated that it was ok for men to be with men, and women with women? Maybe for some
people, but most use it a crutch to hold up their homophobic thoughts. Now, I do realize that some people have gay friends
and say they don't have a problem with gay people in general and what not, but believe that they should not be married. I
suppose they aren't using religion as a crutch, yet it still makes no sense. Why is it ok for them to be gay, and have partners
of the same sex, yet not be married? Because "marriage" is defined as being between a man and a woman? Then change the definition...
You would think that it would be viewed as a worse sin for them to be together WITHOUT being married. Do they expect them
to live their lives without intimacy because some people are uncomfortable with it or don't believe it is right? They can
never stop homosexual relationships, so why bother stopping the marriages? It seems to me that there are a lot of contradictions
in religion, and so I prefer to believe what I believe, and not what i am "supposed" to beleive. thank you for listening and
have a splendid day!
6/2/05- i took my last 2 exams this morning! summer break has officially commenced!
